Unexpected blessings from God

I don't know why I am always amazed when God gives us little surprises in life.  You know, something that you didn't expect (hence they are a surprise), but that suddenly makes your life easier.  God cares about even the little things.  In fact, why don't we EXPECT God to care about the little things?  If He has his eye on the sparrow, doesn't He care even more about us?

Here's the story...  Many of you probably know how I've struggled with very severe migraines every day over the last 3 months, which in turn has caused my FM/CFS to go downhill in a hurry.  As a result, normal, everyday activities take a great amount of energy and effort for me to complete.  Up until a few weeks ago, I dreaded showering, and even avoided it.  Yes, I know - gross.  But taking a shower was a huge ordeal.  It would only take me 10 minutes in the shower, but when I would get out I would be very exhausted.  I know, we're all tired, but I mean, I couldn't even stand up.  I would be so out of breath from the exertion, as if I had just run a few miles.  (Wait, I've never run a few miles at once, so I wouldn't know...)  Anyway,  I would lay on the bathroom floor for about 15 minutes until my heart was at least calm enough so I could crawl to the bedroom and into bed for a few hours of sleep - and hope that I would be recovered enough to at least make it downstairs to eat supper with the family, if I was lucky.  So, showering actually took an entire day.  (I was already sleeping about 16 - 20 hours a day, so this literally was my day.)  I'm only telling this to create a background for the little blessing God gave me this week.  So a couple weeks back, I realized (DUH!), why don't I put a stool in the shower to sit on, and I won't be so exhausted when I get out.  This has soooooo helped!  I really only need about 30 minutes recovery time from showering now!  That's huge!  On the way down to Delaware today, it hit me.  Shoot.  I'm going to have to shower standing up.  I'll be completely exhausted before I even get to see one house!  (btw, we're house hunting.)  It was a passing thought, I didn't even mention it to Alden.  I didn't dwell on it, just prayed for strength from the Lord to get through it.  Fast forward a few hours....we get in our hotel room....and it's a HANDICAPPED hotel room!!!!!  There is a SEAT in the shower!!!  What a huge blessing!!  Thank you God!  It's a little thing, but it changes a lot for me and what my body can handle in the next 3 days!  See, God cares about even the little things!
